Stratech announces changes to the composition of its Board of Directors and of its Audit Committee
SINGAPORE, 25 MARCH 2002 - Mainboard-listed, advanced IT systems and technology developer, Stratech Systems Limited ("Stratech"), is pleased to announce changes to its Audit Committee and its Board of Directors as follows:
- Professor
Hang Chang Chieh has been appointed to the Audit Committee with effect
from 25 March 2002;
- Mr
Basil Chan has been appointed to the Board of Directors and as Chairman
of the Audit Committee with effect from 25 March 2002; and
- Mr Tjio Kay Loen and Mr Seah Chin Yew have resigned from the Audit Committee and the Board of Directors has accepted their resignation with effect from 25 March 2002.
The Board considers Mr Chan an independent director pursuant to Clause 9B02(2)(a) of the Listing Manual. Information required under Clause 902(2) of the Listing Manual for the appointment of Mr Chan is announced separately.
Professor Hang Chang Chieh
Professor Hang is currently an independent Director of Stratech. He holds the position of Executive Deputy Chairman of Agency of Science, Technology and Research (A*STAR) (formerly known as National Science and Technology Board), and Chairman of two other statutory boards - Health Sciences Authority (HSA) and Intellectual Property Office of Singapore (IPOS). He also serves at the Board of Directors of several public and private organizations in Singapore.
Mr Basil Chan
Mr Chan has more than 24 years of experience in audit, financial, corporate and general management of leading companies in Singapore. He has previously held positions as Chief Financial Officer of Datacraft Asia Ltd, Finance Director in the Singapore Technologies Group and Singapore Technologies Engineering Ltd, where his experiences covered a diversity of businesses including technology and telecommunications. A Certified Public Accountant of Singapore, Mr Chan was a member of the Corporate Governance Committee of Singapore and is a Council Member and Board Director of the Singapore Institute of Directors. He holds a BSc Economics (Honours) degree majoring in Business Administration from the University of Wales Institute of Science and Technology and is a member of the Institute of Chartered Accountants in England and Wales.
